Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan denied the validity of the allegations that his country had ceded part of its lands for the benefit of Azerbaijan, according to the recently concluded tripartite statement.
Pashinyan explained in a televised speech transmitted by the website of the Russia Today channel that preserving the peace that was reached in the disputed Nagorny Karabakh region and ensuring its sustainability is "extremely important", pointing out that ensuring stability and security around Armenia and Karabakh and rebuilding the areas affected by the fighting. Ensuring the continuity of the Lachin Corridor that connects Armenia with Karabagh requires the implementation of the agreements stipulated in the tripartite statement concluded between him and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev under the auspices of Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier this month.
Pashinyan stated that the agreements also include the exchange of prisoners and the dead bodies and the search for the missing, stressing the need to move forward quickly on this issue.
At the same time, Pashinyan spoke of the presence of sensitive points of contention in the tripartite statement, noting that active diplomatic work is underway to find solutions to them.
