Geneva - Sana
The United Nations special envoy to Syria Geir Pedersen announced that the fourth round of the mini-committee to discuss the constitution will begin its work tomorrow at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva.
Pedersen explained in a press conference held in Geneva today that after discussions and meetings with the participating delegations and with the Swiss authorities, including health, we are now able to start tomorrow's meeting.
He expressed his wish to see progress on the issue of the Constitution Debating Committee, "and that this progress be made by the Syrians themselves ... and that tomorrow's meeting push the political process forward."
Pedersen indicated the need to work to enhance confidence between the parties participating in the meetings and build on what has been achieved during the previous rounds.
The third round of meetings of the small committee to discuss the constitution was held at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva at the end of last August, and it was within an agenda entitled "Basic National Principles".
