Within the framework of the governmental efforts to revive the forest cover, 50 volunteers from the “Light Syria” and “Journey and Path” teams, in cooperation with the Forestry Department of the Agriculture Directorate in Lattakia, participated in planting about 550 seedlings in Jabal Al-Hurra of Rabia sub-district in the northern countryside.

Engineer Jaber Suqour, Assistant Head of the Forestry Department in Lattakia, explained in a statement to SANA that the target area was exposed to fires in 2012-2013 during the presence of armed terrorist groups, and the Directorate rehabilitated the site by removing dry and burned firewood and preparing a study on the places of natural regeneration to preserve it and the completely burned areas to be reclaimed. For his part, Wissam Ali, the leader of the "Journey and Trail" team, invited everyone who has physical fitness and muscular strength to participate in the volunteer campaigns for reforestation out of our love for our land and our belief that Syria is strong and steadfast with the arms of its children and the vigor of its youth, as was the participation of the volunteer Muhammad Bash Buyuk, who emphasized the importance Restore the ecological balance damaged by the fires that destroyed the beauty of our forests and the diversity of their wildlife.

In turn, Aktham Ismail, the leader of the "Syria Light" team, indicated that the volunteers were able to complete the work and cultivate the sector allocated to them by the Forestry Department in a record time.

Children Majd Hamama (8 years), Maya Raslan (12 years), and Dhu al-Fiqar Dalilah (10 years) expressed their happiness by planting new plants that will grow and grow, and all Syrian children will enjoy spending holidays and annual vacations while they play in its environment as they used to do with their families.

Volunteers Ramiz Haj Hussein, Afra Jamous and Danny Qunizh affirmed that the youth have a great responsibility towards their country, Syria, its land and forests, which enjoy a high environmental and aesthetic value, and everyone should cooperate and join hands to preserve its charm and greenness.

Two women, Wafa Othman, “a housewife” and Sawsan Haddad, a “psychological therapist,” indicated the necessity of being in nature from time to time to strengthen the connection between man and the earth and get rid of tension and pressures, stressing that with each implant young people grow new hope that the next is better.
