In those hours of anguish and helplessness, Dieguito could barely upload a photo to his Instagram stories with a phrase for his father: "The captain of my heart will never die," he wrote, on an aerial postcard of the legendary San Paolo stadium.
A couple of days later, and just when Dalma Maradona also reappeared in his networks to pay tribute to Diez, Diego Jr published a heartbreaking letter addressed to his father, the man who took almost 30 years to recognize him as his son but with whom in the last time rebuilt an absolute love relationship.
"How happy I was with you ... You couldn't even imagine it, just looking at you next to me I felt invincible !!!! How much I am going to miss this hug, pa of my life ... You can't even imagine it remotely", he began by saying Junior, accompanying his text with different photos, including a very tender one of Diego in his role as a grandfather, together with his grandson Diego Matías.

"How much am I going to miss sitting with you to watch a match of our beloved Napoli !!! And my children? How will they do without such a loving grandfather? I promise you that they will always be on your side, that they will always defend you
and that they will always inflate the chest talking about the grandfather

"Dad, captain of my heart, you will never die because I will love you until the last breath I'm going to have !!", Junior said in Spanish, even though his native language is Italian.
But in the last section of his posting, he left perhaps the most moving phrases of his letter, which speak of a story between father and son that managed to overcome distances and disagreements.
