"Get up - straighten the crown - go on"

Karl Valentin's relationship with his Planegger “Exile” was always difficult, as he longed to return to his old home, the big city of Munich.

Maybe it would be different today.

After all, Planegg, or more correctly the Kulturforum Planegg, is doing what the state capital has not been able to achieve for months: hope - for culture lovers and creators.

Because while some are still busy canceling cultural events, the Kulturforum presents its program for the coming year.

Planegg

- The little "but", which is also in the foreword of the program booklet for February to July 2021 in the form of the quote "Predictions are difficult, especially if they concern the future", has evidently awakened the spirit of opposition among the Planegger Kulturforum women.

So they have written the motto "get up - straighten the crown - go on" on the flag.

And one can only hope that their optimism will prove to be right.

This is supported by the fact that - as Anja Fanslau emphasizes - the entire first half of 2020 was spent making everything suitable for corona.

“We got routine,” says the chairwoman of the cultural forum confidently.

And then there is also the positive feedback from guests and the very good conditions that the Kupferhaus offers.

These include "large foyer, separate entrances for hall and gallery".

“With the new program, we even reacted to the dark red traffic light,” says Claudia Heuermann.

Many events don't start until 8.30 p.m.

If only 50 visitors are allowed in the copper house, i.e. the infection rate has increased again and the corona traffic light is dark red, a second event will be offered at 6 p.m.

Season ticket cabaret

There is more good news for cabaret lovers: while the normal subscription is suspended, there will be a one-off season subscription.

You can attend four events for 80 euros.

On March 24th, 2021 Holger Paetz will ring with “Fear!

The Sermon of Penance “started Lent.

Anja Fanslau is looking forward to “bitterly, politically demanding” cabaret.

Josef Brustmann follows on April 15 with socially critical tones.

And anyone who has to think of Chancellor Angela Merkel on May 19 when they see Simone Solga in the Kupferhaus has not gone crazy, but has probably experienced the cabaret artist as a “chancellor's booze”.

The fourth cabaret evening (June 10th) ends with the “Mixed Show” by Werner Meier and Ludwig Müller.

All cabaret evenings are again available as streaming offerings.

It currently looks meager with tickets for the classical concert series.

The evening of the cello-piano duo Claudio Bohórquez & Peter Nagy is currently sold out, as is Stefan Temmingh & The Gentleman's Band.

Anja Fanslau would like to recommend the concert of the multi-award-winning pianist François-Xavier Poizat to classical music fans.

He is the star of the piano matinee on April 18th, when each visitor only pays for what he wants (“Pay what you want”).

Another highlight of the Kulturforum program are the children's performances “Peter and the Wolf” on February 28th and for older children (from at least 6 years old) “Café Unterzucker plays animal songs” on March 14th.

They were lucky in planning the Kupferhaus theater series.

A performance was actually planned for December 2020. But actor Jörg Schüttauf, who plays the leading role in the tragic comedy “Paul Abraham”, won't have time again until next year, which is why the theater evening didn't have to be canceled.

It will now take place on February 6th.

The program also includes the Spanish mask theater “Solitudes” (March 13th) and the Shakespeare classic “A Midsummer Night's Dream” (April 24th).

With the music subscription you can choose between the “Hippie Chamber Orchestra” (February 11th), “Now is the blues with funny” by Martin Schmitt (March 11th), “Tutti Totale” (April 22nd) and the new program by Michael Fitz (April 29) decide.

A Karl Valentin evening with Michael Lerchenberg, Moritz Katzmair and Florian Burgmayr (March 6), a benefit concert with Ingolf Turban and Tomoko Sawallisch (May 20), two concerts by the Planegg-Krailling music school (5 May) are also planned. March and July 9), a choir concert by Capella Nova Munich (June 19) and an evening of chamber music with the Lobkowitz Quartet & Max Peter Meis (July 17).

Sales for the season subscription cabaret and the subscription subscription music start today, Tuesday, December 1st.

For the time being, orders are only accepted in writing, preferably using the order form in the program booklet by fax, post or e-mail.

Advance ticket sales will begin a week later on Tuesday, December 8th at all Munich ticket sales points and online at www.muenchenticket.de.

For everyone who finally wants to experience cultural events live again, Karl Valentin again provides the appropriate quote: "Hopefully it won't be as bad as it is."
