Prof. Mohsen Fahrizda.

And the intelligence of the Islamic Republic.

According to the senior official, the directive given to the heads of the preventive security to act to locate the mole in Iranian intelligence and the infrastructure that enabled the assassination of Fahrizadeh, came from the office of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The source added that the Tehran leadership was harshly critical of the heads of the internal espionage and preventive security forces, due to the failure to prevent sabotage of military and strategic infrastructure across the country, as well as the succession of assassinations of Iranian scientists and officials. General Qassem Suleimani a year ago in Iraq shortly after landing in Baghdad from a flight departing from Tehran.

Another senior Arab intelligence officer told Israel Today that the preventive security forces in Iran certainly have cause for concern in the face of the assassination of the senior nuclear scientist and the human and logistical resources required to carry out an assassination attempt on such a senior and secure personality.

"Fahrizada was one of the most secure figures among the regime's senior officials in Tehran and yet managed to assassinate him," the senior intelligence source told Israel Today, adding: "After his agenda, knowledge of the methods of operation and ways of escape of his security guards, and quite a bit of logistical coordination and activities are required that may reveal the perpetrators and their operators."

He said, "Without help and assistance from within the system, and the help of an established human infrastructure operating in secrecy and complete compartmentalization in which every individual knows their role, the chances of carrying out the elimination of such a senior and secure personality are almost nil, so it worries Iranian regime leaders "This is the latest assassination, and there will be further assassinations of Iranian officials and even more attempts to damage military and strategic infrastructure in order to disrupt and delay the nuclear program."

The official Iranian news agency Fares published further details about the assassination attempt on the life of Fahrizadeh, who as mentioned was among the most secure personalities in the Islamic Republic.

According to the report in Iran, the operation lasted about three minutes.

The shooting was carried out with an automatic weapon at a distance - and no traces of assassins were found in the area.

Simchani confirmed the details in interviews he gave to the media in his country, adding that satellite communications were apparently used in space to use the weapons in carrying out the assassination.

At the same time, Iran continues to call on conservative elements in the regime to respond to the assassination of the senior nuclear scientist by "attacking the port of Haifa in order to cause as much damage and casualties as possible."
