Parts of the new ARD crime scene were filmed in a villa and on the banks of the Ammersee near Wartaweil.

The Bavarian radio raves about the area, the Herrsching water rescue watch that nobody falls into the lake.

Wartaweil

- Nobody knows whether the audience in Herrsching will go up significantly next Sunday.

However, it is clear that some Herrschinger should sit in front of the television with a very special look.

Then Wartaweil plays a not insignificant role in the latest ARD crime scene (we reported).

"In der Familie" was the first of two episodes to mark the 50th anniversary of the most popular crime series on German television yesterday evening.

The main focus of the case was in Dortmund, next Sunday the event will move to Munich and the Ammersee.

In Wartaweil, the production company has found a villa that fits perfectly into the Mafia story, in which the inspectors Franz Leitmayr (Udo Wachtveitl), Ivo Batic (Miroslav Nemec) and Peter Faber (Jörg Hartmann) are investigating.

At the beginning of March - and thus before the first corona lockdown - the film was filmed there for a week.

But how did the crime scene makers come to Ammersee?

“This motif was chosen because it has a lot to offer visually,” explains Gesine Pucci from Bayerischer Rundfunk to the Starnberger Merkur.

"It was about finding a stylish place that exudes enough seclusion to tell something that takes place in secret." Mafia.

“It is also a delightful contrast to the otherwise more urban images,” says Pucci.

The Herrsching community quickly gave its approval.

She made the parking lot at TSV Herrsching available to the TV people, where they could park their vehicles for a week.

The club's water sports department provided the crew there with electricity and water and made their toilets available, as department head Thomas Lauffer explains.

“That was a matter of course for us,” he says.

But there was no direct contact.

The situation is different at the BRK water rescue service in Herrsching.

With Sven Landrock and the deputy technical director Leon Gambihler, she provided two colleagues for a day to secure the shooting.

“When shooting on the water, the local water rescue service is often asked,” explains chairwoman Fiona Kemp.

The two members were there with a medical backpack in the background.

“They were also ready to jump into the water if the worst happened,” explains Kemp.

In that case, quick help would indeed have been necessary: The Ammersee had a water temperature of just four degrees during filming.

On average, the Herrsching water rescue service is called in for filming once a year, says Fiona Kemp.

This year there were even two shoots.

She herself was part of a new episode of “The Old One” at the end of August.

The effort for the water watchmen was a bit bigger.

Because scenes also take place on the water, they were used with the boat.

She usually enjoys filming.

The people from the film are "very open people," says Kemp.

And of course the whole thing is also exciting.

Will she be in front of the TV next Sunday, December 6th, at 8.15 p.m.?

“Of course I'm curious,” says Fiona Kemp.

“If you are there and have a look behind the scenes, you know how time-consuming it is, and of course you want to know what the finished scenes look like.” And besides: “If you live in Herrsching, that's interesting anyway.” That's how it looks also Mayor Christian Schiller, who had no contact with the film crew during the shoot.

"We are excited about the result," he says.
