He disappeared for 2 days at sea. They found him clinging to his boat in Florida

Stuart Bee, 62, was rescued floating on the hull of his boat this Sunday about 86 miles from Port Canaveral.

A man who disappeared off the coast of Florida for two days was found clinging to his overturned boat off shore Sunday afternoon, the Coast Guard said.

The authority reported that crew members aboard a motorized vessel saw Stuart Bee, 62, in the hull of his boat, the 32-foot Sea Ray, around 11:00 a.m. about 86 miles off the coast of Port Canaveral, Florida (one hour east of Orlando).

Mark Vlaun, the Jacksonville Coast Guard Sector Commanding Officer, said

Bee's rescue was a "really incredible result."

"Saving lives at sea is our calling," Capt. Mark Vlaun said in a statement.

"Thank you to our partners in mission who took action and to all who spread the word to find and rescue Mr. Bee."

It was unclear what Bee's condition was and what initially caused her boat to capsize.

Bee was last seen heading out to sea from Cape Marina on Nov. 27, according to the Coast Guard.

The next day,

a Cape Marina member reported Bee missing after he failed to return, saying the man normally never spent the night out

, according to the Coast Guard.

The search involved a search and rescue team with boats and aircraft, including assistance from US Customs and Border Patrol, the guard said.

Nearby sailors were also notified to keep an eye out for Bee and his missing boat.
