The Independent Commission Against Corruption yesterday (1st) sued a former insurance agent and four policyholders of AIA Insurance (AIA) in three cases, accusing them of making false statements in insurance applications and insurance claims, including false reporting of occupation, monthly salary, Assets, and refers to the need to receive multiple physical treatments due to sprains, fraud insurance company commissions and medical expenses compensation totaled more than 130,000 Hong Kong dollars.
The defendants have been granted bail by the ICAC and will defend themselves in the Eastern Magistracy tomorrow (3rd).

The defendants include: Wu Yongji (38 years old), former insurance agent of AIA (International) Co., Ltd.; and Yao Junhao (25 years old) who is a technician of 4 policy holders; ground staff Yao Jingxuan (25 years old); decoration worker Ye Jiabao ( 37 years old); and sales clerk Chen Jiayu (33 years old), charged with a total of 8 counts of conspiracy to commit fraud.
The ICAC received a corruption complaint earlier and revealed the suspected crime after investigation.
The crime involved occurred between June 2017 and April 2019.
AIA provides comprehensive assistance during the ICAC investigation.
AIA will consider the client's occupation, annual salary and medical history when processing insurance applications.
If the insurance policy is accompanied by an accident protection add-on contract, the policyholder can be reimbursed for medical expenses and receive additional compensation.
Each claim must be accompanied by relevant documents such as a receipt and sick leave certificate for proof.

Misreporting occupation, monthly salary, assets, and right ankle injury
In the first case, Wu Yongji and Yao Junhao were both charged with two counts of conspiracy to defraud.
Wu Yongji and Yao Jingxuan were also charged with one count of conspiracy to defraud.
Two of the charges allege that Wu Yongji and Yao Junhao were suspected of conspiring with another insurance agent of AIA to defraud the company, falsely reporting Yao Junhao’s occupation, monthly salary, average monthly expenses and accumulated current assets, and other Injured ankle.
AIA reportedly was thus induced to approve Yao Junhao’s policy application and pay him insurance compensation and pay a commission to Wu Yongji.
The remaining charges allege that Wu Yongji and Yao Jingxuan were suspected of conspiring and conspiring with the second insurance agent to defraud AIA, falsely reporting Yao Jingxuan's occupation, and inducing the company to approve its policy application and pay a commission to Wu Yongji.
Wu Yongji reportedly received more than 15,000 Hong Kong dollars in commissions for the two insurance policies, while Yao Junhao’s insurance claims were reported to be about 10,000 Hong Kong dollars (approximately US$1,300).

In the second case, Ye Jiabao was charged with three conspiracy to defraud.
The charge alleges that he was suspected of conspiring to defraud AIA with the second insurance agent, falsely reporting his occupation and average monthly salary, and reporting that he sprained his left shoulder and right wrist while carrying heavy objects, and had received physical therapy 6 times.
The policy subsequently involved insurance claims of more than HK$20,000 and insurance claims of about HK$30,000 (over US$3,800).
It is reported that the second insurance agent was paid a total of over HK$8,800 in commission.
In the third case, Chen Jiayu was charged with two counts of conspiracy to defraud.
One of the charges alleges that he was suspected of conspiring with the second and third insurance agents to defraud AIA, falsely reporting his occupation and his right knee injury, thereby inducing AIA to pay Chen Jiayu more than 22,000 insurance compensation Hong Kong dollar.
The remaining charges allege that Chen Jiayu was suspected of conspiring with the second insurance agent to defraud AIA, falsely claiming that Chen Jiayu injured his right shoulder and received physical therapy five times, thereby inducing AIA to pay him insurance compensation.
The reported amount of the insurance claim was approximately HK$34,000 (over US$4,400).
