How does the old mayor say goodbye, what accents does his successor set?

A thankless entry: In the middle of the corona pandemic, Michael Falkenhahn took over
the town hall rudder by Jakob Eglseder (CSU).
His first months in office were “more than turbulent”, reports Falkenhahn at the beginning of his 2020 annual report, which can be read on the municipality's website and in the municipality's newspaper.
He was looking forward to the exchange at his first citizens' meeting.
"It is a shame" that the pandemic prevented this.
Financially, Corona hits the community less hard than feared (we reported).
The tax breaks are limited to 370,000 euros, as calculated by Peter Kirschenhofer, who has temporarily taken over the office of treasurer since November after his predecessor Stefan Gehentges retired.
In view of the reserves of 4.75 million euros, the company is solidly positioned, said Kirschenhofer.
Save VAT on the new fire engine
One of the largest investments in 2021 will benefit the fire brigade.
A fire truck is purchased for 430,000 euros (TLF 3000), minus a state subsidy, the municipality has to provide 360,000 euros.
According to Falkenhahn, part of the purchase was already made in 2020, which means 3750 euros less VAT.
In the current year, the town hall has invested around 85,000 euros in improving the fire service equipment, including 50,000 euros for the renovation and modernization of the respiratory protection workshop and almost 16,000 euros for protective clothing.
Third well will be drilled in 2021
The water supply for the almost 4,900 otter fingers will be given an additional pillar next year.
A new shaft is being dug south of the two existing wells west of Palnkam, right on the border with Holzkirchen and Dietramszell.
“The test well in September was successful,” says Falkenhahn.
Investigations are still missing as to whether the new well could affect existing drinking water catchments in the area.
For the production well, the water catchment and additional pipes, the mayor reckons with costs of around 250,000 euros.
Multi-generation living: Corona project slowed down
The "Multi-Generation Living" project, which started promisingly in January, was slowed down by Corona.
As close as possible to the center of the town, on a communal property, for example on Thomawiese, a complex with 25 “affordable” apartments is to be built, 15 of which are for senior citizens and ten for young citizens.
"This year we wanted to ask citizens about this and check what exactly is needed," says Falkenhahn when asked.
A presence event that should precede a questionnaire campaign did not allow the pandemic.
Falkenhahn considers it difficult to switch to an online format.
“I have doubts whether we can reach the target groups in this way.” As soon as Corona allows, “we will take the necessary steps”.
Sports center: City council goes into retreat
Falkenhahn avoids referring to the sports center in its annual report;
as an “elephant in space” it is still considered to be the trickiest task of community politics.
“The municipal council will meet in the first quarter of 2021 on issues relating to local development,” says Falkenhahn on request.
It will have to be clarified whether Falkenhahn is critical of the planned new construction of a sports hall at the skater area.
Seven to nine million euros would be due.
At least 1.1 million euros are needed to renovate the old sports center on the Nordring (without roof, catering, heating).
If you want to build larger there, the old system bonus, which is important for noise protection, could be at risk.
"For this we need current information from the district office," says the mayor.
There was progress in 2020 on the Teufelsgraben cycle path, the construction of which finally seems possible, and in terms of wind power in the Hofoldinger Forest, where the decision to build a wind turbine is due in 2021.
First of all, Falkenhahn emphasizes, “to show patience and perseverance in combating the pandemic”.
