If it were a normal year, this news would not be so extraordinary, but Corona changes everything: A Sunday shopping took place in Olching.

It turned out that many people welcome the fact that they can go shopping in a relaxed manner and without being crowded.

Some still miss something.

Olching

- Numerous people stroll through the main street on Sundays, inspect the Christmas decorated shop windows or rummage in the shops.

Around 20 shops are open - which is apparently quite popular.

Sandra and Dirk Fahrnbach are currently strolling through the city center with their children.

Sandra Fahrnbach is enthusiastic: “It's a nice action.

We took a little walk and bought a gift to buy a secret. ”There should be Sunday shopping much more often.

As a result, the whole thing is straightened out a bit - especially at Christmas time.

Atilla Nal and his wife are also happy.

Says Nal, “I don't get around to shopping during the week and it's often so hectic on Saturdays.

Today it is much quieter and more pleasant.

You have time to discover what the shops have to offer. “However, the two of them did not use the stroll to get Christmas presents.

“We have agreed not to give each other anything.

Instead we bought household items. ”With a measuring cup and a bird feeder under their arm, they set off on their way home.

Nice change

Rainer Baltes thinks the Sunday shopping is a nice change: "For me, the social component plays a role."

Michael Wirtz enjoys that there isn't too much going on.

He is self-employed and has little time during the week.

Therefore, it is a nice opportunity for him and his wife for a stroll.

"It's just a shame that too few stores are open."

For Gaby and Carsten Mack from the Magnet fashion store there was no question of participating in the campaign.

They think it's good that you have an extra day.

Even if a real market Sunday would be better because people like to eat and drink something while shopping.

Nevertheless, the two are satisfied.

There is also a lot going on in the Miller store.

“There are a lot of people there.

Every now and then I have to limit the entrance, ”reports owner Wolfgang Miller.

He does not yet know whether the additional day of sale will actually pay off for him.

“I also have my staff costs.

But I definitely see the campaign as good advertising. "

Evi and Wolfgang Schussmann examine an e-bike in the shop window.

“But we're mainly there for the cribs,” says Evi Schussmann.

Passers-by can admire a wide variety of nativity scenes in over 30 shop windows.

“They are really beautiful,” enthuses Wolfgang Schussmann.

The opening of the crib path was also the obligatory occasion for Sunday shopping.

Where is the Würschtlbude?

On the opposite side of the street, Christian and Christiane Georgi are standing in front of a shop window.

One thing is missing, says Christiane Georgi: "We would have liked a mulled wine stand and a sausage stand." You could stand there with a distance.

Then you would have had a little more Advent atmosphere.

Nevertheless, Sunday shopping is a good gesture.

"We hope that it will bring something to the stores."

The campaign definitely helped the participating retailers, Nadine Klinder from city marketing is quite sure of that.

"The overwhelming majority of the participating businesses were happy about the high customer frequency." For every business - even if the range might not necessarily be suitable for classic Christmas shopping - the campaign was a success simply because of the additional advertising and the positive customer perception been.

Klinder would like more shopping Sundays.

The current legal situation does not allow this.

But next Saturday there is a long day of shopping.

The shops are open until 6 p.m.

This long shopping day is taking place for the second time.
