Munich - The Munich-based car

manufacturer BMW

does not want to pay its employees a corona bonus despite the special charges caused by Corona.

"A special payment because of the

corona

pandemic is

not up for discussion

at the

BMW

Group,

" a group spokeswoman told Merkur.de on Wednesday.

In

the course of the year,

BMW increased

the short-time work allowance for employees whose net pay was below 93 percent.

In addition, other benefits such as Christmas and vacation pay as well as the profit sharing "continue to be granted".

According to the current collective agreement for the metal and electrical industry,

BMW

employees

receive

69 percent of a monthly salary as vacation pay.

Then there is the Christmas bonus.

BMW increases

the collectively agreed share of 55 percent of a month's salary

by up to 45 percent, depending on the length of service.

The Munich-based car manufacturer pays its employees a total of 13.7 monthly salaries and a profit-sharing bonus.

BMW: Arch-rival Daimler announces special corona bonus

It was only on Tuesday that the Stuttgart

Daimler

group announced that it would pay its collective bargaining employees in Germany a one-time corona bonus of 1,000 euros with their upcoming December salary.

This is intended to cushion the “economic and personal burdens” on employees in the pandemic ”.

The sporting goods

manufacturer Adidas

is also planning a thank you bonus.

Depending on the purchasing power in the respective country, they can be up to 1,000 euros.

At the beginning of November,

Siemens was

one of the first large corporations to

advance

by announcing a special corona dividend.

They wanted to reward the “top performance” of the around 235,000 employees in the crisis.

The premium is also graded according to purchasing power and should be around 1000 euros in Germany.

While the 2nd wave of #COVID is in full swing, it's time to recognize our employees for their strong dedication during the last 6 month: THANK YOU !!

The Corona bonuses are tax-lucrative.

The Federal Ministry of Finance announced in the spring that it would make bonus payments of up to 1,500 euros tax-free from March 1st.

With the special regulation initially limited to the end of the year, the increased burdens on nursing staff, doctors, supermarket cashiers and truck drivers should be particularly rewarded.
