(ANSA) - NAPLES, 02 DEC - An earthquake was distinctly felt a little while ago in Pozzuoli, especially between the Solfatara area and via Campana, and in some districts of the city of Naples. The shock, also felt on the upper floors of the houses in the Arco Felice area and Rione Toiano, was preceded by a loud roar. Official data from the Vesuvian Observatory are awaited to establish intensity and epicenter. In the Phlegraean area a seismic swarm has been underway for some months connected to the resumption of bradyseism. For now no damage has been reported, only a lot of fear among the people.According to the website of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, the epicenter of the 20.23 shock was found five kilometers from Pozzuoli, in the heart of the Phlegraean area, just two kilometers from depth. For this reason, like all phenomena related to bradyseism, the shock, of slight magnitude (magnitude 1.8), was strongly felt by the population of Pozzuoli, the neighboring municipalities and the districts of the western area of Naples.
