Iraqi President Dr. Barham Salih condemned the assassination of Iranian scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh again, in his rejection of all acts of violence and attacks that affect the security of countries and the safety of their citizens, regardless of their motives.

Saleh’s statements came during his meeting with the Iranian ambassador to Iraq, Iraj Masjedi, in the capital, Baghdad, today, according to a statement published by the Media Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Iraq on its website.

Saleh said that Iraq is based on its absolute belief in rejecting acts of violence and tensions that undermine security and stability in the region and seeks to distance themselves from conflicts and disputes that affect its internal security and stability, stressing his country's support for regional and international cooperation in order to establish peace and consolidate stability for the countries and peoples of the region.

Saleh indicated the need to prevent escalation, protect security and stability, and enhance regional security and peace.

For his part, the Iranian ambassador affirmed his country's commitment to supporting the security of stability in Iraq and strengthening the bonds of economic and social relations between the two neighboring countries and peoples.
