Due to covid-19, the UN General Assembly will start a special two-day session starting this Thursday to discuss the global situation of the pandemic.
United Nations authorities and world leaders will speak at this meeting.
US President Donald Trump will not attend.
Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar will speak for him at the forum.
According to the UN, the pandemic "could result in the worst global recession since the Great Depression."
