The Supreme Court of Justice confirmed the conviction of former Vice President

Amado Boudou

for illegally retaining the Ciccone Calcográfica printing company.

With a unanimous ruling, they left Boudou on the verge of returning to prison, since the Oral Court 4 that tried and convicted him had imposed a sentence of 5 years and 10 months in prison.

The ruling also leaves firm the sentences of his partner and friend,

José María Núñez Carmona

;

the previous owner of the printing press,

Nicolás Ciccone

;

Ricardo Echegaray's former chief adviser,

Rafael Resnick Brenner,

and Boudou's former adviser,

Guido Forcieri.

With the decision of the Court, the former vice no longer has more instances to appeal the sentence.

In fact, to confirm Boudou's conviction, the Court rejected the complaint appeals presented by his defense.

They had reached the highest court with a record against it.

Chamber IV of the Federal Criminal Cassation Chamber, in second instance, had already unanimously confirmed the convictions of all the accused in the Ciccone case.

Amado Boudou when he was arrested in 2018 by Judge Ariel Lijo in a case for alleged illicit enrichment.

Now, Boudou's situation is more complicated.

Justice has to begin to define whether to return to jail.

Boudou had obtained house arrest amid the Coronavirus.

Judge Daniel Obligado considered that due to the pandemic he could be a risk group and sent him home even though he had no antecedent that would put him in danger and he did not have health problems at that time.

He also argued that he was very well behaved.

Obliged, in addition, considered that the former vice was serving a "preventive prison" since, in his opinion, the ruling was not final because the Supreme Court had not yet ruled.

With the decision of the Court, that argument is annulled and everything indicates that the road to return to jail begins.
