This Thursday, the Chilean Senate approved in particular the second withdrawal of up to 10% of the pension funds due to the pandemic, remaining just one step away from becoming law.
With 41 votes in favor and 1 abstention, the Upper House approved the modifications made previously by the House of Representatives, concluding with a debate that lasted for several weeks in Congress.
Now the initiative should only be promulgated by President Sebastián Piñera.
In its final version, the project establishes that people will receive the payment of their money in two installments, the first being within a maximum period of 10 business days from when the request is submitted, and the second 10 days after the first amount has been withdrawn. .
In addition, applicants who have incomes above $ 1,900 approximately, must pay taxes according to established tranches.
