The Homs Agriculture Directorate continues the construction and rehabilitation of fire roads in the wooded areas in the western countryside of the governorate to enable firefighting vehicles to reach the nearest point of any fire in case it breaks out.
The head of the Tal Kalakh Forest Division, Eng. Elias Bitar, said in a statement to SANA's correspondent today that, to date, about 21 km have been implemented in all forest sites in the western countryside of the governorate of the entire planned plan of about 55 km, indicating that the work is done in coordination with the Technical Services Directorate and the General Roads Company branch And bridges in Homs.
He also pointed out that the construction and rehabilitation of all fire roads in the Tal Kalakh area has been completed in the Burj Al-Maksour forest sites and Halat and Uzair, while work is continuing in the Wadi Al-Nadara area in the sites near Ali, Al-Zwaitina, Ayoun Al-Wadi and Al-Jweikhat, stressing that the plan of the Agricultural Directorate in the field of building fire roads aims to establish New roads, rehabilitating and expanding old ones, and constructing circuits to enable firefighting vehicles to reach the nearest point of any fire in case it breaks out.
During last October, several forest sites in the western Homs countryside were exposed to several fires affecting large areas of forest trees.
