The German Technology Application Center for Hydrogen could be built in Grub.

Citizens can find out more about the research project in advance on the Internet.

In its public meeting on Thursday, December 10th, the municipal council will deal with the possible application as a location for the German Technology User Center for Hydrogen (WTAZ).

Mayor Thomas Stark announced this.

At the meeting, which will take place from 6.30 p.m. in the triple hall of the sports center, representatives from Hynergy GmbH and TÜV Süd will present the project “and also provide information on the subject of safety,” wrote Stark in a press release on Friday.

Poing: Area in Grub as a suggested location

It further states: “Since the settlement of the WTAZ could represent a future-oriented decision for the municipality of Poing, the municipality informs the citizens about the project on its website www.poing.de.

Unfortunately, no information event can take place due to the current infection protection regulations.

Interested citizens can still contact the municipal administration and the competence team and ask questions about the project.

All interested parties have the opportunity to ask questions via the email address wtaz@poing.de until December 9th. “These would be included in the decision-making of the municipal council.

Grub: The Free State of Bavaria has given its approval

A twelve hectare area of the State Institute for Agriculture (LfL) in Grub is planned as the location for the research center: south of the insemination station, across from the Schustermann & Borenstein logistics center.

According to Stark, the LfL and the Free State of Bavaria approved the project on December 3rd.

Zorneding rejected the research center

As Mayor Thomas Stark reports, the WTAZ will "play a key role in the development and certification of fuel cell systems in connection with green hydrogen and contribute to an efficient decarbonization of the transport sector in the future".

At the beginning of January, a team of experts, in consultation with the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, will decide which location Bavaria will apply to.

Zorneding was also recently discussed as a location for the hydrogen competence center.

There, however, the majority of the municipal council rejected an application.
