An earthquake originating near Cyprus was felt in the northern region
Residents of Haifa, Tiberias, Nof and the Galilee and other localities reported feeling shaky for about five seconds, in two waves.
"The lamps and the armchair were really moving. People were running downstairs in the stairwell," they said.
According to the Geophysical Institute, the source of the quake was northwest of Cyprus, where a magnitude 5.2 was felt.

An earthquake was felt today (Saturday) in the northern region.
According to the Geophysical Institute, the source of the quake was northwest of Cyprus, where it was felt at 2.45pm on a magnitude 5.2 on the Richter scale.
Residents of Haifa, Tiberias, Nof Hagalil and Afikim reported feeling unstable for about five seconds.

He said, "The first wave was calm and we fought over whether it was an earthquake or not. After a few seconds there was a second wave that we felt much stronger. The hanging lamps and the armchair I was sitting on really moved. People ran downstairs in the stairwell. Relatives from the rest of the city called us to make sure "We also felt the earthquake. It is a frightening phenomenon."
