The Secretary for Food and Health, Chen Zhaoshi, published a blog today (6th) stating that the Central and Western District Council has recently been consulted and supported for the location of the district health center. At present, the location of 10 districts in Hong Kong has been implemented.

The government is also reviewing proposals for transitional "District Health Stations" in 11 districts, with a view to starting the service of "District Health Stations" in 2021.

Chen Zhaoshi said that the government's investment in medical and health resources is never soft.

Regarding district health centres, apart from the health centres currently in use in Kwai Tsing District, the Government has also recently consulted the Central and Western District Council on site selection and received support. Therefore, the site selection of health centres in 10 districts has been implemented. It is Sham Shui Po, Wong Tai Sin, Wan Chai, Eastern District, Yau Tsim Mong, Kwun Tong, Tai Po, Sai Kung, North District and Central and Western District.

Among them, Sham Shui Po and Wong Tai Sin districts have already awarded operating service contracts in September.

The government is also reviewing proposals for transitional "District Health Stations" in 11 districts, with a view to starting the service of "District Health Stations" in 2021.

Chen Zhaoshi said that the government will study the establishment of a public-private collaboration pilot program for regional health centers. Through the center’s chronic disease screening program, it will provide subsidies for members of regional health centers suffering from diabetes or hypertension to diagnose and treat their chronic diseases with online doctors. Strengthen the measures for the treatment of chronic diseases in the community and relieve the pressure on the public medical system.
