The former chairman of the Democratic Party, Hu Zhiwei, after the resignation of the democratic party, stated that he had no intention of continuing to assume a leadership role in his original high-level position, and only participated in the election of members of the Central Committee.

The young people of the party, Liang Yiting and Xian Zhuolan, have already stated their intention to run for the vice chairman. After President Pai resigned as a member of the Legislative Council, he expressed his intention to stand for election, saying that he hoped that the leadership of the party would include those with parliamentary experience.

According to on-site sources, Lin Zhuoting and Liang Yiting were elected as Vice-Chairmen of the Democratic Party with 170 votes and 140 votes, respectively. Another candidate, Sha Tin District Councillor Xian Zhuolan, lost only 109 votes.

Luo Jianxi invited Liang Zhenying to attend the district council meeting on Thursday to listen to the views of the Southern District Councillors.
