The Haushamer Bahnhofsvorplatz should get a new quality of stay.

The municipality has commissioned a landscape architect for this.

He now presented the goals.

Hausham

- Markus Türk did not spare praise.

The landscape architect attested that the Hausham station forecourt had a "great spatial structure".

Its location at a central hub is "excellent in terms of urban planning".

The preliminary conclusion of the expert: “You can make a lot of it.” What exactly, that is what Türk wants to develop with his colleagues from Landshut's NRT office together with the local councils, but above all with the citizens, in the coming months.

At the municipal council meeting, Türk presented the goals for the redesign of the 740 square meter square and an initial schedule.

As reported, the project is part of the Integrated Site Development Concept (ISEK) that is currently being drawn up.

Among other things, the specifications that the NRT office received via the tender are fed from an initial public survey.

According to Türk, the biggest intervention will take place on the ground.

Because the forecourt from the pharmacy and bank to the street drops by more than a meter, it currently consists of several steps and ramps.

Turk found it impractical and not barrier-free.

Also because events are always associated with effort due to the lack of larger, flat areas.

As a solution, the expert recommended a few, but larger levels.

The existing fountain was also “not that great,” said Türk and suggested that the water should be better emphasized when upgrading.

The lighting of the station forecourt must also be brought up to date.

More seating and more greenery could increase the quality of stay.

In any case, the maypole should be preserved, emphasized Türk.

A delivery zone and possibly short-term parking spaces for pharmacies and banks are being considered.

Citizens should be included in the redesign

In an initial cost estimate, Türk estimated around 500,000 euros for the measure.

The office will start planning in January, and the local council and citizens will see the first draft at the March meeting.

If you apply for funding in May, you could expect construction to start in March 2022 and completion in July 2022.

The ISEK steering committee, which is made up of many citizens, will be included in the entire process as a “quality body”, emphasized Türk.

The project was well received by the local council.

Hubert Lacrouts (CSU) warned, however, to take your time with the planning.

“We shouldn't rush anything.” It was important to him to include the graduation of Miesbacher Strasse from the main road to the local road that was planned in the course of the relocation of the level crossing.

As reported, the community gains more design options.

Lacrouts suggested looking at the station forecourt and the street together.

The station forecourt should "grow into" the street

“We never only think up to the property line,” emphasized Türk.

Rather, it is hoped that the redesign of the square will be taken up with possible further measures on the street and the surrounding buildings.

“We rely on contagion”, added Mayor Jens Zangenfeind (FWG).

Proposals for the road were made in the local council.

Peter Wagner (SPD) recalled the idea of a one-way regulation for the adjacent Alte Tegernseer Strasse, Willi Halletz (Greens) wanted Tempo 30 on Miesbacher Strasse.

Zangenfeind asked to wait for the commissioned traffic report to be completed.

Christian Baur (FWG) has great hopes for the planned event space on the new station forecourt.

The chairman of the Haushamer Gewerbeverein could imagine holding the sensational nations or the Christmas market here in the future.

In the long term, it would certainly be better to create a congregational alternative to the church square.

"Fortunately, our current pastor supports us a lot at events, but it was different."

The town hall chief promised that all suggestions would be accepted.

It is already clear how much potential the station forecourt has as a “real town center”.

"You don't have to lure people there first," said Zangenfeind.

"They like to stay there now."
