Drama in Georgia: US President Donald Trump arrived in the southern state last night (Sunday) and held a rally attended by thousands, during which he encouraged his supporters to go out and vote in next month's Senate elections.
"This is a very simple decision, you will vote whether your children will grow up in a socialist state or a free state. Socialism is just the beginning for the Democrats. They want to enter a communist system of government," the president warned his supporters during the rally.
This is the first rally in support of the president since losing the presidential election in November.
Trump reiterated during the rally that the election results were falsified in the swing countries in which he lost.
At the same time, members of the president's legal team filed a lawsuit challenging the election results in the Georgia state court seeking to disqualify the postal vote in the state.
But according to new reports, Trump is not content with just legal efforts.
According to a report in the Washington Post, the president pressured Georgia's Republican Gov. Brian Camp to disqualify the election results and order the state legislature to appoint Republican voters while ignoring the results.
According to the report, Camp claimed that it did not have the authority to act in this way and also refused the president's request to order an examination of the election results by votes sent by mail, arguing that it was the Secretary of State's authority to order such an examination.
