The second-level private secretary mainly provides duties related to secretarial services, including word processing, managing daily meetings and work schedules, handling enquiries and other office support tasks, etc., and will be deployed to any government office in any region of Hong Kong. When performing duties It requires the application of information technology and may have to work irregular hours.
In terms of entry requirements, applicants must obtain Level 2 or equivalent or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination, or Level 2/Level E or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent; Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination; Chinese word processing speed of 20 words per minute and English word processing speed of 50 words per minute; and general commercial computer software (Microsoft Office Word 2016 and Excel 2016) practical knowledge.
Applicants must pass a skills test before they are invited to participate in the selection interview.
Skills tests include Chinese and English word processing speed tests, and general business computer software application knowledge tests.
Applicants who are invited to attend the interview must take a written examination of the Basic Law.
The applicant’s performance in the Basic Law knowledge test will account for an appropriate proportion of his overall performance.
