Algerian civil protection announced Monday, December 14 that it had recovered the body of a sailor and looked for two other missing persons, after the sinking the day before of a fishing boat, off the bay of Algiers.

In addition, a rescue operation was launched Monday afternoon by the Algerian Civil Protection to find a fishing boat with five sailors on board, missing off Tipaza, west of Algiers.
The fishermen, aged between 20 and 30, went out on Sunday evening and gave no sign of life.
The alert was given on Monday by their families.
Earlier in the day, the civil protection of Algiers announced that they had recovered the body of a sailor after the sinking on Sunday of a sardine boat off the bay of Algiers.
Two other sailors are still missing and civil protection divers continue to search for them, according to the director of civil protection in Algiers, Khaled Benkhalfallah, quoted by the official press agency (APS).
Six crew members of the same boat, including the owner of the sardine boat, had been rescued the day before, according to the same source.
Strong winds of up to 70 kilometers per hour have blown over the Algerian coast in recent days.
