The Italian Ministry of Health announced the registration of 17,938 new cases of Coronavirus throughout the country during the past 24 hours, which brings the total number of cases to 686031.
According to the Ministry of Health data, 484 deaths were recorded, bringing the total number of deaths due to the pandemic to 64,520.
The health report on standing up when the state of emergency was set up said that 151,697 analyzes were conducted that revealed infection with the emerging coronavirus, up to the last 24 hours.
For his part, Italian health official Alessio D'Amato warned of an increase in Coronavirus infections in the coming days, calling for additional restrictive measures to be adopted.
He expressed his concern about the congestion in the streets, with the turnout of Christmas and New Year shopping, which could cause a third wave of Covid 19.
