The branch of the General Company for Construction and Development in the Central Region achieved a quantum leap in implementing a large number of its projects for this year, at a rate of nearly 99 percent, and their cost exceeded five billion, two hundred and seventy million pounds, out of the total set plan of five billion and three hundred million pounds.
Engineer Ali Hassan, director of the branch, stated in a statement to the SANA Economic Bulletin that there are projects that have reached a hundred percent implementation rate, such as the railway branch and their cost exceeded 1.7 billion pounds, and the work of the first phase of the railway branch of the industrial zone in Hassia and the new Khunifis station in Homs at a cost of 3.2 billion pounds.
He said: The implementation rate in other projects has reached 99 percent, including the project to rehabilitate the Homs police headquarters in Taldo at a cost of 42 million pounds, maintenance works for ferry and protection interfaces and retaining walls in the western region at a cost of more than 84 million pounds, and a project to rehabilitate Ibn Al-Walid Hospital at a cost of more than seven hundred and eighty million Lira and the project to rehabilitate the building of the Technical Observers Institute and the Vocational Training Center in Homs, at a cost of more than 222 million pounds, and the project of maintenance work for the oil well bases of the Al-Hail project for the Syrian Oil Company at a cost of 48 million pounds.
Concerning the percentage of work completion in the rest of the projects, Hassan indicated that the implementation rates ranged between 14% and 77% and include the project of phosphate production for the General Company for Phosphates and Mines, the completion of roads and sanitation in the strip area, the work of the youth housing project in the suburb of Al-Wafa Hama, and the maintenance work of infrastructure in Qattinah in Homs For the benefit of the Public Housing Corporation, in addition to rehabilitation and maintenance works for the sub-network of the Homs-Hama irrigation channel, projects for rehabilitating streets in the suburb of Al-Walid neighborhood and within the governorate center, and a project to build a cooling unit with providing cooling equipment and accessories for storing potato seeds for the benefit of the General Organization for Seed Multiplication.
As for the projects that have been completed and delivered during this year, Hasan indicated that during the current year, separate projects and facilities for housing, the water project for the villages of Jabriya, Badu, Maidan, Raida, rehabilitating the construction of the Rastan district district, in addition to rehabilitating several agricultural roads in the villages of Umm al-Sarj, al-Haraki, al-Hammudiyah, Safar, Tarin, Sharqiyah, and Samakiyat Al-Gharbia, Zita, Al-Furqiya, Al-Nasifiyeh, Al-Sankari, Jeb Al-Jarrah, and the work of laying asphalt shirts in a number of Homs city streets.
