Kanaan Juda, Head of the Homs Communications Branch, stated in a statement to the SANA Economic Bulletin that the gates expansion project in the governorate included the centers of Al-Quwatli, Wadi Al-Dahab, Zahra, Al-Mahatta and Al-Rayyan, and they were received and put into active service in the current year. Survey work was completed for new sites in the governorate in coordination with the General Administration and are being expanded. As soon as the equipment is supplied, pointing out that a number of new areas will be identified within the implementation of the second phase of the launch of the “FTTH” project, which provides high-speed Internet service to companies and individuals within a number of neighborhoods in the city.

Juda confirmed that the technical workshops completed the current year of the implementation of all the investment plan projects that the branch began implementing last year with a percentage of 100% implementation, which included rehabilitation work for a number of damaged centers in the governorate regions and its countryside, in addition to the completion of ten expansion projects for the main and subsidiary network in the governorate in the city and countryside Work continues on six other projects.

The head of the Homs Communications Branch noted future plans to keep pace with the latest technologies in the world. A study was prepared to install "Fixed LTE" equipment, which is a technology that enters the country for the first time that provides both telephone and Internet services and dispenses with the copper network, in addition to the possibility of installing "FTTP" equipment to dispense with Main cables and the expansion of the distance for the telephone circuit with the continued expansion of the installation of "DSL" gates in all centers in coordination with the General Administration, the installation of "IMS" equipment to replace the old equipment and the expansion of the installation of optical equipment "FTTP" in Hassia Industrial.
