After the declaration of the occupation a week ago, plans to establish 12,500 units in the Holy City, a new plan was announced to establish 8,300 units on the lands of the town of Beit Safafa, southeast of occupied Jerusalem, as part of the so-called deal of the century aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause. .

The new plan is being built on Palestinian lands extending from the town of Beit Safafa, southeast of Jerusalem, which is the link between the city and the rest of the West Bank, through the Baqaa neighborhood, and the village of Walaja, southwest of the occupied city, to complete the plans of 3,500 units on the lands of the towns of Issawiya, al-Tur and Anata, and the 9,000 units on The lands of the town of Qalandia in occupied Jerusalem, which will lead to the displacement of thousands of Palestinians and create a geographic and demographic settlement barrier that isolates occupied Jerusalem from its surroundings from all sides. It also divides the West Bank into two parts and separates its north from its south.

The Palestinian presidency confirmed through its spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeinah that the escalation of the occupation, the settlement operations in the West Bank, especially in occupied Jerusalem, aims to eliminate the Palestinian presence in it, noting that the continuous colonial attack on the Holy City and the isolation of the Old City and its surroundings from the rest of Jerusalem and the isolation of Jerusalem from the rest of the lands The Palestinian Authority aims to impose a new reality that undermines any opportunity to establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Abu Rudeineh stressed the need for the international community to intervene urgently, take concrete and immediate measures, and put pressure on the Israeli occupation to stop its crimes and violations against the Palestinians, and to oblige it to implement international law and international legitimacy decisions that affirm the illegality of settlement construction and demand its cessation.

In turn, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has renewed its demand for the international community and the relevant United Nations organizations to deal with the utmost seriousness with these plans and to take the necessary measures imposed by international law to put an end to them and the occupation's violations of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, foremost of which is Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Islamic Christian Association for the Support of Jerusalem and the Holy Places made it clear that the occupation is expanding settlement in the West Bank, especially in Jerusalem, taking advantage of the silence of the international community over its continuous violations of the rights of the Palestinian people and the decisions of international legitimacy, noting that the settlement plans of the occupation completely eliminate any opportunity to establish an independent Palestinian state on the fourth line June 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital.

Member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization Wasel Abu Yusef Laft, in a statement to SANA reporter, that the occupation is using the remaining time of the administration of the outgoing US President Donald Trump to implement the colonial annexation that targets the Palestinian land, stressing that what is happening in terms of settlement, Judaization, demolition of Palestinian homes and displacement operations It represents war crimes for which the international community must hold the occupation accountable and punish it.

Abu Yusef indicated that a series of massive events will be organized the day after tomorrow in 15 locations in the West Bank to counter the annexation and colonial settlement plans, stressing that there is no alternative to resistance and steadfastness to stop the settlement war and Judaization aimed at isolating Palestinians in small gatherings and liquidating the Palestinian cause.

Director of the International Jerusalem Center, Hassan Khater explained that the occupation, through intensive settlement expansion in Jerusalem, is completing its plan to seize occupied Jerusalem, pointing out that there are other plans that the occupation intends to implement with the aim of controlling the area extending from Jerusalem to Jericho and the outskirts of the Dead Sea and displacing thousands of Palestinians from Jerusalem, the Jordan Valley and Beit Lahm and Hebron with the aim of changing the geographical landscape in the largest settlement operation in the West Bank since its occupation in 1967.

For his part, the specialist in settlement affairs, Jamal Jumah, said that the plan to establish 8,300 settlement units aims to separate southern Jerusalem from the city of Bethlehem and link settlements with each other by settlement bypass roads, indicating that the occupation has embarked on the implementation of another settlement scheme east of Jerusalem aimed at seizing 600 dunums with the aim of establishing hundreds Settlement units on it.

Director of Documentation of Occupation Violations at the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Qassem Awad, said that the occupation is racing against time to implement the annexation process and turn large areas in the West Bank into closed areas with the aim of seizing them to expand the settlements with the aim of isolating Palestinian towns and villages from each other, noting that the occupation bulldozers and settler gangs have been uprooted since the beginning of the year More than 9,000 thousand olive trees are ongoing in the West Bank, in addition to the settlers carrying out 420 attacks on Palestinian homes, cars and farms, and all of these attacks and violations come in implementation of the so-called Deal of the Century, which the Palestinian people will continue to confront by clinging to the land and steadfastness on it until the sinister deal fails.
