[Cold Weather Warning/Winter Solstice/Monsoon] Hong Kong turns cold in winter. The Observatory said that the winter monsoon will affect southern China in the next few days. It is expected that a supplementary monsoon will arrive along the coast of Guangdong on Saturday (19th), and the following day The area was cold in the morning for two days.

Affected by the relevant dry air currents, the weather in southern China will turn fine early next week, with a large temperature difference between day and night.

The Observatory lowered the temperature forecast this morning (16th), and lowered it by 1 degree each from next Sunday (20th) to next Tuesday (December 22nd). Among them, the winter solstice on Sunday and Monday (21st) will see 12 degrees lower. It is cold, or the lowest record since the beginning of winter. Sheung Shui, Tai Po and Tin Shui Wai and other areas dropped to only 10 degrees early in the morning. It is expected that the cold weather warning will come into effect.

The weather forecast for this afternoon and tonight in Hong Kong is mainly cloudy and cool.

The Observatory’s nine-day weather forecast shows that the Observatory will lower the temperature from Sunday (20th) to next Tuesday (December 22). The minimum temperature on Sunday and Monday will drop to 12 degrees, including Sheung Shui, Tai Po and Tin Shui Wai. It is one or two degrees lower than the urban area, and Taguling may even drop to 10 degrees.
