2020-12-18T17:04:59.768Z

In isolation at La Lanterne after being infected with Covid-19, Emmanuel Macron published a video to inform him of his state of health.

The head of state wants to be reassuring.

"After having experienced the first symptoms, I therefore took the test and after being positive I immediately isolated myself as the health rules require us to do", he begins.

Wanting to play on transparency, the President of the Republic also confirms that he has registered on the TousAntiCovid application.

"I have seen many political leaders, members of the government and international leaders also members of my close security or relatives and members of my family," he continues before announcing that all the contact cases have been called.

For the sake of proximity with the French, Emmanuel Macron then wishes to thank all those who sent him messages of support.

“I wanted to reassure you.

I'm fine.

I have the same symptoms as yesterday, that is to say fatigue, headaches, dry cough, like hundreds of thousands of you who have had to live with this virus or who are living it today 'hui […] There is normally no reason for things to go wrong, but I am under medical supervision and I will report to you in a completely transparent manner.

"

"No one is safe from this virus"

Emmanuel Macron, who indicates to stay at work remotely with the government despite "a little slowed down activity", invites the French to be careful.

“Yesterday I tested positive, which shows that the virus can really affect everyone, because I am very protected, I am very careful, I respect barrier gestures, the distances I put on the mask, I put on hydroalcoholic gel and despite everything, I caught the virus, ”he continues.

According to him, his contamination would therefore be linked to a moment of neglect and a moment of bad luck.

“We must continue to respect these rules.

I know they sometimes seem harsh to you, but we have to hold on ”.

Emmanuel Macron is worried about the evolution of the epidemic as the end of the year holidays approach.

“Yesterday with me there were 18,000 French women and men who tested positive.

So the virus is leaving, he warns.

We have to be vigilant, we have to take care of each other at this time of celebration.

I appeal to each of you, I count on you.

Let's do the maximum.

No one is safe from this virus, ”he concludes, before promising to return to the French“ very quickly ”.
