In 1992, the young Ruan Jizeng sat in front of the TV and replayed Bruce Lee's "Jing Wu Men" on the screen. He was so dumbfounded that he "played 20 in a Japanese judo stadium, wow! I'm so excited!" and "Tangshan" A series of overseas posters of Bruce Lee’s internationally renowned films such as "Big Brother", "Jing Wu Men", and "Game of Death" were created by Ruan Jizeng's father, the poster master Ruan Dayong.

Since listening carefully to his father's account of Bruce Lee's history of prestige, Ruan Jizeng has since forged an indissoluble bond with a generation of martial artists.

This year coincides with Bruce Lee’s 80th birthday. Ruan Jizeng pays tribute to Bruce Lee with his hand-painted designs for three trams. The refurbished trams No. 8, No. 80 and No. 160 will be on display until January 2 of the following year. Don't miss it.

"You can't lose the ghosts! There are commemorative events all over the world. Bruce Lee grew up and prospered in Hong Kong. If our commemorative events are decayed in every way, it is really good for the nuclear outbreak."

Dressed in the shape of a tram driver and tied with a tie printed with the silhouette of Bruce Lee, Ruan Jizeng stood proudly in front of his masterpiece, vaguely seeing his smile hidden behind the mask.

He recalled the moment when he saw the finished product "born", "I was so touched to see the real car!" Since October last year, he had the idea of creating "Bruce Lee Tram", "You can lose it! There are all over the world. The commemorative activities, Bruce Lee grew up and prospered in Hong Kong, if our commemorative activities are in decline, it is really good for the nuclear outbreak."

Imitating the shape of a tram driver, coupled with the silhouette of Bruce Lee, you can see at a glance that the tram design was born by him.

The world's first Bruce Lee statue opens in Eastern Europe

Ruan Jizeng mentioned that one thing has always entangled him, that is, the world's first Bruce Lee statue was not opened in Hong Kong. "It is a place that you can't estimate - Bosnia on the Balkan Peninsula in Eastern Europe. It was one year earlier than ours. It opens on Sunday, but our bronze statue is so much more beautiful.” He continued that a year ago, the whole world was preparing for the celebration of Bruce Lee’s 80th birthday, and many areas abroad were in full swing, so he decided To fight for Hong Kong, draw the Bruce Lee tram representing Hong Kong.

Nguyen Ji Teng, who has lived in Shau Kei Wan since he was a child, has a tram as part of his growth. The ability to integrate the tram with Bruce Lee elements is simply what he dreams of.

The characteristic tram reproduces the footprints of the former residence

Ruan Jizeng himself is a landscape architect. He participated in the "Bruce Lee's Former Residence Concept Design Competition" ten years ago and won the professional category champion.

Although the plan to transform the former residence into a memorial hall fell through, and the building could not escape the fate of demolition and reconstruction, he did not waste the layout of the former residence that he had carefully studied at that time, and even incorporated the elements into the two trams (No. 80, No. 160). cage.

Ten years later, Bruce Lee’s former residence no longer exists.

"Actually, the former residence was in the state of the past. Even ten years ago, even if it had a shell, the garden has changed into a parking lot. Of course there is no sun in the interior space, and the exterior walls are so dark that it is oily." He believes that the Bruce Lee tram was created ten years later. It is a compensation for the demolition of the former residence last year.

In addition, he felt that commemorating Bruce Lee and promoting Hong Kong tourism as the theme of the hand-painted tram design made this design project particularly meaningful.

More than 30 buildings on Hong Kong Island have received a false alarm

The entire creative process began in August of this year. Ruan Jizeng first drew two Bruce Lee hand-painted drawings on the front and side of the tram, which are the yellow suit shape of "Game of Death" and the moment of kicking in "Dragon Fighting Tiger".

Then, he felt that if there was only Bruce Lee on the tram, he was a little too few, so he continued to enrich the design and painted the famous landmarks of Hong Kong Island into the background. It took more than two months. "It turned out to be 30 buildings. Draw from the city to Wan Chai."

At the beginning of October, when Ruan Jizeng was happy to share semi-manufactured products with his friends, suddenly a friend seriously reminded him to pay attention to copyright issues. “There was a thunderbolt in the sky. In fact, two portraits were painted at that time, and the building was half painted.” Less than half a month before the submission, he had already decided to lose the number.

"Originally, I was obsessed with the question, he would definitely collect the expensive royalties, and he would be obsessed with abandoning the plan." So he sent an email to Bruce Lee Co., Ltd. with an "no expectations" mentality, "After a week Just answer me and say OK." As long as it is used for non-profit purposes, Bruce Lee's portrait can be used for free, so that he can relax.

There was a false alarm about the copyright turmoil, and Ruan Jizeng successfully obtained the authorization in less than a week.

Designer microservices on tour: Shi Naiying is unwilling to get off the car

As for the design of the tram, Ruan Jizeng has done enough time. The lower seats are straight and bold in color. The design is based on the study and dining room seats of Bruce Lee’s former residence in Kowloon Tong. “In fact, it’s a heavy taste and bolder style in the 1970s. Design elements"; the design of the front ladder of the tram is decorated with the long straight tiles on the outer wall of the gate of the mansion; the style of the rear ladder is taken from the wooden straight between the stairs of the former residence.

Looking up, he posted his winning design drawings in the "Bruce Lee's Former Residence Design Competition" on the roof, carefully recreating the life of Bruce Lee.

If you look carefully, you can find special rooms such as exercise rooms and dog houses.

There was a breeze on the tram, shuttled through the old streets of Hong Kong Island, time and space trance connected to the era of Bruce Lee, for a fantasy journey.

The Bruce Lee tram is Ruan Jizeng's masterpiece. When the tram officially went on its way, he certainly couldn't wait to take to the street to capture the movement of his car, and then board the tram he designed by himself to take a tour of the microservices and observe the reactions of the neighborhood.

"There is a photo on the train of the teacher's milk department, and I don't want to get off the train until I pass by. The teacher said that I really like Bruce Lee, and I have to watch it." Although he tried to suppress joy, Some people revealed their identity on the spot, but they couldn't help secretly happy to learn that their works were affirmed.

"On the day of the installation, I asked for leave to watch the installation process. I was so moved when I saw the real car that I wanted to shout. When I saw the real car, the real thing was more beautiful than the drawings I made."

Many tram design restrictions

Although Ruan Jizeng has experience in designing bus bodies, he believes that designing tram bodies is more difficult and demanding.

For example, he pointed out that the tram poster sticker stipulates that the entire car must be pasted on all four sides of the car. It cannot be posted on one side or part of the car body like a bus, and the sticker must not cover the window. Therefore, the position of the tram window and door should be carefully considered in the design. , Both the portrait and the text title must cooperate.

"On the day of the installation, I asked for leave to watch the installation process. I was so moved when I saw the real car that I wanted to shout. When I saw the real car, the real thing was more beautiful than the drawings I made." He walked around the tram and looked around. Then I went up and down the stairs and looked at the finished product carefully. I found that the decoration inside can be vaguely seen outside the car. "From a certain angle, you will see the portrait of Bruce Lee outside, and you will see the portrait of Bruce Lee inside the car." The effect is just like the plot of Bruce Lee and Shi Jian in the mirror room in his favorite movie "Dragon Fighting Tiger".

After the interview, the reporter asked Ruan Jizeng to estimate how many Bruce Lee portraits are inside and outside the car?

"I can't answer you, everything is in my heart."

If you are lucky enough to take the Bruce Lee 80th Anniversary Tram, you might as well take a closer look at the details, maybe you will find more hidden eggs!
