The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) last night (Saturday) approved the corona vaccine from the modern pharmaceutical giant for emergency use.

Moderna's vaccine against the virus will be the second to enter immediate use in the United States.

This is about a week after the Pfizer vaccine was approved for emergency use, which was received yesterday by Vice President Mike Pence.

Modern's vaccine is considered easier to operate and transport than Pfizer's, and can be transported at a higher temperature.

It is found to be effective in 95% of subjects.

According to the 54-page document, the FDA panel of experts found no significant side effects from the vaccine among those aged 18 and over.

According to experts, the benefits of the vaccine outweigh its risks among this age group.

A major reason for optimism is that among the experimenters of the "modern" vaccine, no cases of serious disease development were recorded - in contrast to 30 such in the placebo group.

The granting of the vaccine permit provides another cause for hope for the American nation, which has lost more than 300 of its citizens infected with the virus, with a one-day mortality record of 3,580 deaths on Wednesday.

Last night, the expert panel of the Medicines Administration recommended by a majority of 20 supporters, without objection and with one abstention, to approve the vaccine for emergency use, and its distribution will begin as soon as the green light is given.

Health Secretary Alex Azar said Tuesday that 5.9 million doses of the vaccine have already been allocated to countries and are ready for transportation across the United States.

Officials in the country said they expect that by the end of the year, there will be a total of 40 million doses of the Pfizer and Moderna corona vaccines - enough to vaccinate 20 million people.
