As in previous trips to the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, this time too, White House officials and senior Israeli officials will be on an El Al flight, which received the number 555.

"There is a lot of work left"

This will be the first commercial and official flight from Israel to Morocco - in decades.

On the American side, Kushner, the emissary for international affairs, will be accompanied by Avi Berkovich, the head of the US International Economic Development Corporation, Adam Boller, and other senior American officials.

From the Israeli side, the delegation will be led by the Chief of Staff for National Security, Meir Ben Shabbat, and with him by the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alon Ushpiz, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Haim Regev, the Deputy Chief of Staff, Maoz, who is responsible for Israel's relations Diplomatic relations with Israel, and more.

Meeting with the Moroccan Prime Minister

According to the plan, the delegation will stay in Morocco for a day and return to Israel on Wednesday at noon.

However, due to the new restrictions imposed by the Corona Cabinet, the visit may be shortened to one day.

During the visit, senior Israeli officials are expected to hold a marathon of meetings with their Moroccan counterparts.

Among other things, a meeting is planned between the head of the National Security Council, Ben Shabbat, and the Prime Minister of Morocco, Saad a-Din al-'Uthmani.

According to senior officials in Rabat, representatives of the parties will sign a series of collaborations in the areas of politics, security, diplomacy, technology, industry, agriculture and tourism.

In the first months, the liaison offices of the two countries will operate in Rabat and Tel Aviv, and in a few months, embassies will open and ambassadors will be replaced.

The senior adviser to the outgoing US President, Jared Kushner, told Israel Today ahead of the trip that "the trip to Morocco is very important."

He said, "This is the first commercial flight between the countries. The visit is important to start the independent ties between the countries, so that they will last for a long time under each government. Many countries see the benefits and results that have ties with Israel. These agreements allow nations to know each other. "The lack of familiarity has created negative narratives for too long. There is still a lot of work to be done, but I hope there will be more agreements, which will happen when they happen."

State reception

In the Moroccan capital, Rabat is preparing for the official reception of the Israeli-American delegation, and emphasizes that its arrival is an exciting and unique event, symbolizing the strengthening of peace.

By order of the King of Morocco, Muhammad VI, the members of the delegation will receive a ceremonial welcome in all its splendor, which will include all official state manners.

Senior Foreign Ministry officials close to Foreign Minister Burita said that Brabat was excited when they learned that the official flight number from Israel to Morocco on the El Al flight would be LY555.

This is a tribute to the special connection between the Moroccan community in Israel and the Jewish community there, to the royal family and to the residents of the kingdom throughout the generations.

"Opponents moderated"

"In Morocco, Muslims and Jews have always lived in wonderful coexistence with peace and harmony," senior Moroccan Foreign Ministry officials described life in their country.

They added that "Morocco has constitutionally enshrined ties with the Jewish community in the kingdom, and no other Arab country has taken a similar step. We are proud that the Jewish community in Morocco runs courts, schools and cultural and artistic activities, which tell the story of community life in the kingdom and prosperity. "Appreciation and pride in Morocco's achievements in Israel."

Rabat further noted that opponents of the agreement in Morocco also moderated their opposition, after realizing that this was a Moroccan interest of the first order that would contribute to the advancement of the kingdom economically and politically.

Senior rabbis note favorably the relationship between the secret services in Morocco and the Israeli security system: "There are quite a few collaborations, especially in the prevention of radical Islamic terrorism."

The capital also stressed that the agreement with Israel should not harm Palestinian national interests.

"Relations with Israel will in no way harm the Palestinian issue," a senior Foreign Ministry official in Rabat said yesterday, saying it was too much to wink at Ramallah.
