Tehran-SANA

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif renewed his country's refusal to renegotiate the nuclear agreement.

In a series of tweets on Twitter following an informal meeting held by video technology between the foreign ministers of the six countries participating in the nuclear agreement, Zarif stressed that re-negotiating with his country is a “unacceptable matter,” noting that “the timeline for the nuclear agreement cannot be separated from this agreement.” .

Zarif said, "The three European countries that are members of the nuclear deal, Britain, Germany and France, have severely violated their obligations in this regard," noting that the European troika, like the United States, "is responsible for inflicting irreparable harm to the Iranians."

Zarif called on European countries to take advantage of the last opportunity to save the nuclear agreement and said: “Everyone should return to the nuclear agreement, and when America and the three European countries work with their duties, Iran will quickly return to the measures taken in response to Washington’s illegal exit from the agreement and the blatant violation of the covenant by these countries.” Noting that the Iranian people should "feel the abolition of the embargo measures" imposed on them.

Zarif pointed out that the crises in the region originate from the United States and the three European countries "mostly", explaining that it has been agreed with the 4 plus 1 countries to keep the region's affairs and crises away from the discussion on the nuclear agreement.

On May 8, 2018, the outgoing US President Donald Trump announced his country's withdrawal from the nuclear agreement signed between Iran and the P5 + 1 group in 2015, which was unanimously adopted by the UN Security Council under Resolution 2231.

In the closing statement of the informal meeting, Russia, China, France, Britain, Germany and Iran reaffirmed the importance of preserving the Iranian nuclear agreement, noting that UN Resolution 2231 is fully binding on implementation.

The European Union Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, who participated in the aforementioned meeting, confirmed in a tweet after the end of the meeting that the implementation of the Iranian nuclear deal "is a fateful necessity."
