Muhammad Hammad, General Manager of the Homs Dairy Company, announced that sales of more than 6 billion Syrian pounds were achieved from its various products from the beginning of the year until the end of November of this year.
Hammad stated in a statement to the SANA Economic Bulletin that the company's production amounted to more than 31 tons of sterilized milk and 2104 tons of canned milk in addition to the production of 1996 tons of labneh and about 1817 tons of all kinds of cheese (Akkawi, Qashqwan, cooked, Quraish). 14 tons of beef butter in addition to the production of 2 tons of beef butter.
He said that the percentage of milk supply to the company during the same period amounted to about 74 percent, with a total amount of 10431 tons out of the plan of 14,146 tons, and the company is working to sell its products directly to citizens through its refrigerated cars at wholesale prices as a kind of positive intervention in the market.
Hammad indicated that there are difficulties encountered in work, the most important of which is the rise in raw milk prices this year compared to last year, and the increase in production input prices, which led to a decline in the production and marketing process, in addition to the weak purchasing power of the citizen, which led to a decline in the demand for many products.
