As in every edition of the Vendée Globe, the sailors lived far from their families on Christmas Day.
Not always easy to bear.
And to help them pass this emotionally delicate moment, their family and team had prepared a “Christmas” bag to open on D-Day. Filled with decorations, garlands, red cap and above all with gifts and a special menu to taste, he delighted every single sailor on his boat in the deep south.
Most of the sailors filmed the opening of their gifts and sent videos to land with here a Christmas sweater, there a rubiscube, a book, a sudoku, a soft toy and often a drawing of a child, in short. little thoughts not too heavy but warming the hearts of these sailors alone at the end of the world.
Certainly it is their choice, but after 47 days at sea and on such a family day, they miss the land a little more than yesterday and tomorrow.
