An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale today struck the state of Alazig in eastern Turkey, without any casualties or injuries reported.
The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Department, Afad, said in a statement on its website, which was reported by Anadolu Agency, that "the earthquake was detected in Sivreja district of the state of Alazig in eastern Turkey, at a depth of 11.57 km below sea level."
Turkey is located on many active fault lines and has experienced many earthquakes and earthquakes in the past.
