While recovering from an injury that prevented him from playing the last games of the year at Paris Saint Germain, Neymar unleashed a wave of indignation in Brazil for organizing a party with around 500 guests in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic, which has already left more than 190,000 dead in the country.

The news came to light this Saturday in the newspaper O Globo, which details that the celebration began on Friday and would last for five days in a mansion in Mangaratiba, in Rio de Janeiro.

According to the newspaper's information, Neymar also hired a band to entertain his visitors throughout the festivities.

And to avoid disturbing the neighbors, he built a kind of underground bowling alley with acoustic protection.

The local press also revealed that the only rule imposed by Ney was the ban on the use of cell phones.

Attendees will also not be able to record stories, videos or post images on social media.

Although the footballer throughout his career made the news many times for participating and organizing parties, this time the event generated a lot of repudiation on social networks due to the fact that Brazil suffers a re-outbreak of coronavirus cases.

The neighboring country is one of the most affected and, according to the most recent data from the Ministry of Health, already accumulates more than 190,000 deaths and some 7.5 million infected.

The rapid escalation of both cases and deaths in recent weeks led various Brazilian states and municipalities to once again tighten social distancing measures for this end of the year, as is the case in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, the two worst hit regions.

On the footballing front, Neymar continues to recover from the injury he suffered to his left ankle on December 13 against Olympique Lyon, for the fourteenth round of the French league.

"Following the left ankle sprain mechanism, there is a bone contusion area for which he continues his care in Ooredoo. His return to competition is scheduled for January," PSG said in a brief statement published on December 19.
