The hospital announced on December 23 that three patients admitted to Huai’an and internal medicine wards had been diagnosed with COVID-19. The hospital infection control team has been closely monitoring the health conditions of the staff and patients in the relevant wards, and They arrange testing.

In the latest round of testing, eight more female patients were initially diagnosed, aged 20 to 92 years old.

In addition, an 83-year-old female patient was admitted to the Huai'an and internal medicine wards of our hospital on December 18. She was admitted to the hospital with negative screening on that day. She was transferred to the orthopedics ward on December 19 and was discharged on December 20.

She was initially diagnosed after a community test on December 24.

12 patients are staying in the isolation ward of the hospital. Except for one in critical condition, the rest are in stable condition.

Regarding the cluster confirmed cases in Huaian and internal medicine wards, the hospital has arranged for staff in the ward and those who have worked in the ward to conduct COVID-19 testing. 195 staff in related wards have been tested. So far, there are seven staff in total. The test results were initially positive, including four nurses, a blood sampler, a patient service assistant and an outsourced cleaning staff.

They have been transferred to the isolation ward of this hospital for treatment and are in stable condition.

The remaining staff tested negative, and the investigation is still ongoing.

The infection control team is conducting contact tracing investigations on the employees and patients who have been in contact with the seven medical staff.
