Poll: Lam Cheng's year-end popularity rating is 29.7, 60% of Hong Kong people are "unhappy", a 30-year low

"Happy net worth" minus 45 percentage points

In the Minyan Project, 1,014 Hong Kong residents were successfully interviewed by real interviewers using random telephone interviews in mid-December.

According to the survey, Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-e's latest score is 29.7 points, and his net rating is negative 51%.

The latest net satisfaction rate of the SAR government’s performance was minus 43 percentage points, and the net trust value fell by 8 percentage points to minus 27, but the change did not exceed the sampling error.

The public’s net satisfaction with the current political, people’s livelihood, and economic conditions are minus 50, minus 51, and minus 59 percentage points, respectively. The figures are not much different from those of the previous month.

At the personal level, 13% of citizens said they had lived happily in the past year, 59% said they were unhappy, and their "happiness net worth" ("happiness" minus "unhappiness") was negative 45 percentage points. The new low, with an average value of 2.2, which is close to "almost unhappy" overall.

Regarding the outlook for the coming year, 31% expect their personal development to be better than last year, and 25% think it will be worse. The optimistic net value is positive 6 percentage points, a significant improvement from last year.
