Russian Presidents Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping affirmed their countries' determination to develop cooperative relations between them in various fields for the benefit of their peoples.
According to the Xinhua News Agency, the Chinese president indicated during his exchange of congratulations with his Russian counterpart on the occasion of the new year that Beijing is ready to maintain close communication with Moscow in a way that leads to comprehensive strategic coordination and practical cooperation in all fields.
And President Xi indicated that "the coming year has special significance for bilateral relations," as the two sides focus "on the topic of celebrating the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Good Neighborly and Friendly Cooperation between them, promoting the idea of lasting friendship between the two countries and setting a vision for the development and enrichment of bilateral relations.
For his part, Putin said that "the comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination between Russia and China has developed rapidly in the past year, and the two governments and various departments of the two countries have maintained close contacts."
Putin stressed that Russia and China will continue to adhere to the treaty of good-neighborliness and cooperation and develop their bilateral relations.
