(CNN) -

Tom Hanks has a new hairstyle.

Rather, it no longer has hair.

The 64-year-old actor (very briefly) revealed his new look during an appearance Tuesday on "The Graham Norton Show."

Hanks conspicuously wore a baseball cap for most of that appearance.

At one point, he explained that he was currently in Australia filming Baz Luhrmann's upcoming biopic about Elvis Presley, in which he plays Presley's manager, Colonel Tom Parker.

"Let me show you what a horrible haircut I must have to play Colonel Tom Parker," Hanks said, doing his best to hide his unfortunate haircut.

Look at this horrible .. Do you see that?

Do you see that thing?

Then, for a second, Hanks bent down and exposed his hairless scalp.

If one was blinking, you may have missed it.

But judging by the screams that were heard in the audience, everyone saw.

«I scared the children.

I want to apologize, ”Hanks said.

Although Hanks' bald appearance came as a surprise to many of his followers, it is not the first time that the actor has looked like this.

Before the coronavirus pandemic began (and before he and his wife, actress Rita Wilson, were diagnosed with the virus), Hanks was in Australia doing pre-production work for the same film.

In April, she appeared on "Saturday Night Live" from her home and explained what was going on with her hair, or the lack of it.

"Don't worry now, don't be afraid," he told the audience.

“This shaved head was only for a movie and my hair grows back very slowly.

It saves me time in the shower, so I don't know, maybe we should all do it, huh?
