The Washington Post revealed that the US Secret Service is planning to change the composition of the security team assigned to protect President-elect Joe Biden, due to suspicions that some of them are "politically sympathetic" to outgoing President Donald Trump.

The newspaper mentioned in its issue today, citing two sources familiar with these changes, that the current team assigned to protect the president "will be replaced by others who previously worked with Biden while he was former Vice President Barack Obama."

The newspaper considered that such changes in the personnel working with the president directly are considered a "normal thing" with the arrival of a new president, noting at the same time that these changes are taking place at a "controversial time" where Trump blamed his loss on unfounded allegations of election fraud. He sought to prevent his administration from dealing with Biden as an elected president, and some Secret Service personnel were criticized during Trump's tenure for appearing to be adopting his political agenda.

It is noteworthy that Trump is still insisting on refusing to admit his defeat in the presidential elections to Biden, while fears increase that he will not transfer power to the next US administration and mobilize his supporters to carry out acts of violence during the presidential inauguration on the twentieth of next month.
