The corona commissioner in the ultra-Orthodox sector in Magen Israel, Maj. Gen. Roni Noma, held a briefing for journalists this evening (Sunday) during which he addressed the increase in morbidity in yeshivot and said that it is under control.

"We would have been happy to go back to numbers a month ago, but a little over 500 patients are still numbers that do not break down the capsule model. So there is no need to stop studying in meetings," he said.

Noma added: "Patients are concentrated in about 12 sessions, and we control the situation. There is no need to panic. It is not good but not collapse. On the other hand, we are not able to exhaust this closure to bend the disease, so we need to rethink the whole strategy."

"Changing the trend in the ultra-Orthodox public, which has been a bright green for weeks, is turning red. What we can say from an analysis of the data and messing with people is that there is a sense of complacency. Weddings take place, but there is a difference if the older population arrives "A limited time and leaving. This is what determines whether the population at risk is infected or not."

Regarding vaccines, he said: "The ultra-Orthodox public is leading the immunization process in the State of Israel. This should be said despite all the challenges stated at the beginning. Leaders have been vaccinated, and in this context there is a very welcome process. We need time. ".

"We have some logistical problems in Beitar Illit and elsewhere to move the vaccines. I hope we can address this in the near future and see the numbers we see in Beit Shemesh, Jerusalem, Ashdod and more."

Referring to the British mutation, he said: "Out of 94 samples sent to the flooring there are 18 positive ones. Out of the 18 there is an order of magnitude of 13-14 from the ultra-Orthodox public, and we are waiting for another 400 samples in the lab. We need a little more patience in this matter. From a small number. "
