Acting Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai and the Minister of Internal Security visited the Northern District Police Headquarters in Nazareth this morning (Monday), following a nightly arrest operation, in which dozens of suspects in weapons and drug offenses were arrested.

Saturn's first public tour since taking office has been dedicated to the fight against crime in Arab society, and it takes place against the backdrop of rising tensions between criminal organizations in the north.

In his first public statement since taking office, Saturn made it clear that the issue is now a top priority for the organization.

"In the fight against crime in the Arab sector, we are investing the most resources and we will continue to do so," Saturn said, adding that "I send a clear message. The Israeli police are strong and we will continue to act resolutely. We have a long way to go and try to challenge the rule of law."

As part of the arrest operation, 34 suspects in weapons and drug offenses were arrested.

This, at the end of long months of covert activity and extensive intelligence work, which included, among other things, the operation of a covert agent in Arab localities in the north.

During the visit of the Acting Commissioner and the Minister, a ceremony was held to award a police officer certificate to the undercover agent.

"The fight against crime in Arab society has been set by me as a central target for the treatment of the Israeli police. This must be translated into action," Ohana said at the ceremony.

"Most Arab society is law-abiding and desperate for the treatment of the police. There is a hard fight against crime and organized crime."

He clarified that "we will use iron fists in crime and criminals. Anyone who enters the boxing arena also knows how to kidnap. The fight will end with the hand of the police on the top."

Central District Commander, Superintendent Shimon Lavi, told Walla!

NEWS that "in a real fight against criminal organizations, not one that sits in the stands and applauds, is a boxing arena and everyone gets hurt. We have a way and a goal in the end to eliminate the criminal organizations. Anyone who thinks there is a prescription for short-term medication is wrong. We are determined and see the end and the end. "

He said, "Just a week ago, an indictment was filed in the case of the massive shooting at the banks. The shooting at the banks was intended to convey a message from the criminals to the police: 'Get off our backs.' We will not get off their backs.
