The construction of the extinguishing water reserve in Huttenried is now complete.
But it is more expensive for the engineers than planned.
Huttenried
- “The old town council decided on this building project and estimated it at around 37,000 euros,” Mayor Georg Saur looked back at the most recent meeting.
However, at that time there was no so-called service tender, but rather a tender “on demand”.
However, several difficulties arose during construction.
For example, it was not possible to lay a water connection to fill the tank.
This was then done by the volunteer fire brigade itself by pumping water from the hydrant into the 147 cubic meter container.
In addition, no shaft or rolling gravel infiltration was planned, as well as no inflow and outflow, and a suction recess had to be built later.
Together with increased costs for the excavation of the pit, humus removal and a turning area, the project now costs around 54,000 euros, a good 17,000 euros more than planned.
25 percent of this is taken over by the farmer on whose ground the fire water reserve is located.
That had already been negotiated beforehand (we reported).
"It's annoying, but it doesn't help, we need the reserve," Saur summarized.
The councils then unanimously approved the overspending.
