The eruption of the corona in the ultra-Orthodox sector continues to rage and reap dubious records, with ultra-Orthodox gates screwing up at the top of Israel's infection table.

At the top of the national list - Beitar Illit with 956 active patients, with the rate of verified tests standing at no less than 26% of all tests.

It was immediately followed by Modi'in Illit with 1,579 active patients and 18% positive tests.

Arad, which has a high number of Gur followers, is also at the top of the table with 405 active patients.

In the cities and localities of Elad, Beit Shemesh, Kiryat Ya'arim, Kochav Ya'akov, Bnei Brak, Hatzor HaGlilit and Jerusalem, the situation is not much different.

The capital, which has many ultra-Orthodox neighborhoods, suffers from high morbidity as well.

The disturbing numbers that come from the ultra-Orthodox cities, and which in many cases originate in the sector's education system, lead to an unequivocal demand from the public to close schools and Torah studies.

At the request of the mayor of Jerusalem, Moshe Leon, the rabbi of the ultra-Orthodox-Lithuanian generation, Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, approved the closure of Talmud Torah in the city when a general closure in the country was approved.

It can be estimated, based on previous closures, that if the general education system is closed, Talmud Torah will also be closed.

The Ministry of Health's ultra-Orthodox desk reports 700 yeshiva students currently sick in Corona, compared with 600 on Monday evening.

However, the outbreak is focused on specific meetings, and therefore the Ministry of Health is not worried about these numbers.

According to various publications, the ministry intends to allow the meetings with the boarding schools to be left open during the strict closure, with the understanding that sending the boys to their homes in crowded concentrations and large families may cause a jump in morbidity and not the other way around.

At the same time, the ultra-Orthodox sector is preparing for the closure of synagogues.

Under the planned restrictions, more than five people will be banned from gathering in a closed building, which in effect results in the closure of the houses of worship where ten worshipers are currently allowed to congregate.

Meanwhile, the ultra-Orthodox sector is also continuing its efforts to lead the public to be vaccinated.

The ultra-Orthodox daily Yated Ne'eman published a scathing editorial yesterday against Pike News distributors regarding the corona vaccine and accused them of harsh words.

"Various factors who suffer from chronic overtime appear in front of the cameras as 'world savers', broadcasting, writing themselves to know and delivering imaginary speeches to the nation," it was written.
