A Wisconsin prosecutor announced Tuesday that he will not press criminal charges against the white police officer who shot a black man in the back in Kenosha last summer, paralyzing him and sparking mass protests in the city, which is preparing for further demonstrations after ad.

Officer Rusten Sheskey shot Jacob Blake on August 23.

Blake's attorney said the young man had been paralyzed from the waist down as a result of the gunshot wounds and that he would most likely not walk again.

The incident was recorded on video by a passerby, sparking strong protests against police and racial violence in Kenosha over the summer.

It happened just a couple of months before George Floyd's death, also at the hands of the police.
